Layout Changed

As you can tell, I switched to a different layout. I tried to update my other layout with three columns but ended up using a faulty code and it messed everything up. So I had to start over from scratch. I hope you like the new layout. I am still learning about the XML coding. So be looking for some small changes in the future!

25th Birthday and Slideshow!

For my 25th birthday we went to Mendocino and Fort Bragg this last friday and saturday. We were able to stay in this really neat hotel that had a balcony view of the ocean. It had a whirpool tub and fireplace in the room. We got there around 12:00pm on friday afternoon and checked into the hotel. It was raining and raining and raining. We tried to go to glass beach that day but came back soaked! The weather was terrible. FINALLY it died down so we drove over to Mendocino and shopped at their shops by the ocean. I got this really cute deep rust/red pokadot vintage looking apron with my birthday money and a few other things. We then went to this great restaurant in Fort Bragg. It was a mom and pop type Italian place. The food was amazing. They made everything themselves including their Italian bread. The dinner was amazing! I have been craving that Restaurant ever since. :) We then retired for the evening and watched a movie and Family feud reruns.

The next day was suppose to rain. But thanks to a lot of prayer (thanks mommy), There was NO Rain! So we did everything on saturday. We walked about 4 miles that day. First we went to Mendocino's Botanical Garden by the ocean. It was beautiful! In the slide show below there is some pics of the flowers we saw. The garden was this 1.5 mile walk that wound around near the ocean. It was beautiful. I went crazy at the gift shop! I bought the most beautiful Camillia plant from their nursery. I bought some other misc cute things that I couldn't live without with my birthday money. ;)

We then headed to Cabrilla Light House! This was fun because there was an episode of Murder she wrote that we watched with Van Johnson and June Allyson that had a scene shot at the light house. So it was neat to see. We saw some deer there too.

We then headed off to Glass Beach for the second time, hoping to have better luck. I got some great ocean pics there. We then shopped a little more and headed home around 4:00pm.

Then on Tuesday my Ladies Bible Study Group took me out to Lunch for my birthday and I got a couple of lovely presents.

My birthday yesterday was very nice. I had a nice call from Emilie and David on my birthday. I got some wonderful birthday cards in the mail. Marie sent me a very nice gift. My mom made my favorite cake and Harrison brought us Chinese food for our dinner/movie. We watched Notorious with Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman. Harrison bought me this beautiful necklace for my birthday. I am a big fan of Susan Branch's stickers. On her website she sells these really cute necklaces and he bought me their birthday necklace. He bought me another kind from her for Valentines Day, but he wont let me see that one yet. So I had a very pleasant 25th birthday. I think 25 is my
favorite birthday age. 16, 18, 21 was fun. But I enjoy being 25 the most!

Waiting on the Lord....

This month will definitely be an odd month for me. This January we are trying to move to Southern California for Harrison's school. We have found the apartment complex we want, although no apartments that we want are open yet at the right price. Harrison is currently posting resumes like crazy and I am at home trying to figure out how in the world to start packing. I am hoping that I will be in the area for my 25th birthday on the 30th. It is already the 16th, so I have a feeling I will be able to do that.

I feel like I am in limbo, wanting to make plans, but cant because we are busy waiting. Waiting for the Unknown. It gets a little discouraging at times trying to figure out how in the world to pack all your things up for a move and when in the world will I need to be ready? Right now all I can do is pray that Harrison finds the perfect job as soon as possible and start packing.

I do know that there is a job for Harrison and the Lord knows when we should be moving. I just think on those things each day as we wait patiently on the Lord for guidance. He has gotten us this far and I know He will carry us the rest of the way.

Pumpkin Spice Bread and Anne of Green Gables

It is a quiet, misty and overcast thursday afternoon. Just my two bird (Tootsie and Lily) and I enjoying each others company. I have decided that today is the perfect day to have a relaxful, quiet, yet productive day. So I have decided to spend the day with a cup of rose petal tea, watching Anne of Green Gables, baking Pumpkin Spice Bread, and organizing. I have my Anne of Green Gables mood to thank for my myspace layout that I created. myspace.com/bekahjan. I love days like this!

A New Year, A New Adventure!

I cant believe that the new year is almost upon us. This past year (2007) has been an amazing one! As I think back on all the blessings that have come our way this past year, I am curious what other blessings the Lord has in store for us in 08. I don't know much about the future, but I do know that the Lord is in control and has some new things in store for Harrison and I.

This past year has held so many precious memories and blessings and ended with a bang! Christmas was amazing! A great way to end a special year. This year, we completed our first full year of married life! The first of many!

This past year, so much has happened. God blessed us with two special little birdies that have fast become so special to Harrison and I. Tootsie and Lily have given us so much joy and happiness. He has helped us set up our home to be a place of love, peace, comfort, and joy. But most of all, He is there to guide us through all of our big decision making. The Lord has really blessed us this year, not only with material things, but with spiritual things.

This next year will be full of changes. David is away at collage following his dreams and we will be leaving to pursue our dreams. The Lord is leading us down to southern ca for Harrison to take the classes he needs to pursue air traffic controlling. After he is accepted, it is off to another place that only the Lord knows.

This January will definitely be a busy one as we pack and as Harrison hunts for a job.
We are excited for the adventure and yet sad that we have to leave so many special friends and family.

This past year and a half in the East Bay has been a special one.
I hope everyone has a very blessed 2008.
